Jensen Huang and Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella outlined their plans for personal AI computing at a San Francisco event on 7 October 2026. NVIDIA’s accompanying update said RTX Spark laptop preorders had opened, with availability planned for 16 October and compact desktops due for sale in November.
The announcement connects Huang’s long-running work on graphics and computing with a different idea of the PC: a machine that can run AI agents locally, alongside familiar creative and gaming applications.
What the October RTX Spark update said
In its 7 October event report, NVIDIA described Windows hardware and software being developed together for AI agents. Microsoft Execution Containers were part of the operating-system discussion, intended to let agents operate under Windows control.
The report also previewed NVIDIA DGX Station for Windows. That enterprise desktop system is separate from RTX Spark laptops; the names should not be treated as interchangeable products.
What is RTX Spark?
NVIDIA’s 31 May 2026 announcement introduced RTX Spark as a superchip platform combining a Blackwell RTX GPU with a Grace CPU. The company described configurations with up to 128GB of unified memory and support for its CUDA and RTX software ecosystem.
In practical terms, unified memory is part of the platform’s pitch for running larger AI workloads on a personal computer. NVIDIA also positioned the hardware for video production, 3D work and gaming. Those are announced capabilities; they are not independent test results from BlogBio.
RTX Spark laptop and desktop timing
- 7 October 2026: NVIDIA reported that laptop preorders opened.
- 16 October 2026: the stated laptop availability date.
- November 2026: the stated compact-desktop sales window.
The October report listed manufacturers including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI and Gigabyte. A platform announcement does not establish that every configuration will be sold in every country on the same day.
Why this matters in Jensen Huang’s career
For a biographical reader, the interesting point is the continuity between NVIDIA’s graphics heritage and its AI ambitions. Huang’s appearance with Nadella puts the partnership itself at the centre of the story, rather than reducing the news to one specification.

What buyers still need to check
A launch date is only a starting point. Before choosing a system, check the manufacturer’s exact model, memory configuration, local price, warranty and software compatibility. Independent reviews will be more useful for assessing performance and battery life than repeating a manufacturer’s headline claims.
